Despicable Me 4

Gru’s back for more wild adventures! This time, he’s off to a reunion at his old villain academy, where he bumps into Maxime Le Mal, an old rival who’s still holding a grudge over a prank from their school days. Things get wild when Maxime gets arrested by the Anti-Villain League but not before promising to get even with Gru. So Gru’s told to play it safe and move his family somewhere else for now.

They pack up and head off to Mayflower with Lucy, their daughters Margo, Edith, Agnes, plus their adorable new baby boy, Gru Jr. Can’t forget three of their Minions: Phil, Ron, and Ralph. In this new town, they all have to pretend to be someone they’re not—which is no easy task! They deal with some fancy neighbors and their daughter Poppy who ropes Gru into her big scheme involving a heist.

Back at the League headquarters? They’ve turned five Minions into super-powered agents. And if that’s not enough action for you, Maxime uses his love of bugs against Gru in the sneakiest way possible.

This fourth movie in the “Despicable” series brings Chris Renaud back as director. Not only do we meet a new bad guy; there’s also the sweet introduction of baby Gru Jr., making him the first boy in the mix! Really though—it’s all about that father-son bond with Gru showing he’ll do anything for his little buddy.

Let’s be real here: The Minions are hilarious as always and steal every scene—Lucy gets plenty of laughs too!

And don’t even get me started on the awesome music—that vibe just hits right!
In “Despicable Me 4,” you’ll hear cool tunes by Pharrell Williams mixed with some classic ’80s hits. There’s even a neat cover of “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” by Tears for Fears, which is perfect since that’s basically every villain’s dream, right?

The movie’s all about reconnecting with fans who love these characters. Everyone gets their moment to shine, reminding us why we’ve become attached to them over the years. Even if it’s not as new and exciting as the first one, it keeps that fun vibe everyone looks forward to.

If you’re watching it in Italian, Gru’s voice is done by Max Giusti (taking over for Steve Carell), and he nails it as always. Maxime sounds different too because Stefano Accorsi steps in for Will Ferrell, bringing his own funny twist with a new accent. Oh, and Carolina Benvenga takes on Lucy’s voice this time instead of Arisa. It makes things interesting!
